your game here « Result #3 on Nov 28, 2007, 2:45pm »
The eclipse website is currently archived.if you need any information from it, contact Eugene.
If you would like your game to have a website (Dale & od), feel free to use this space. I will just add some boards for you both and can adjust them as you need.
Re: End of Eclipse? « Result #4 on Nov 26, 2007, 7:16pm »
Well, I was hoping Duncan would post this information but since he hasn't I will.
I will be running the first new game of my Dark Ages LARP Saturday December 8th (the Saturday Eclipse would be on).
I will be arriving at RIT at 7, I do not expect us to be prepared to go in character until 9 (just because well...there is a significant amount of catching up to do even for returning players).
However if I can get my people up to speed by then game will begin at 8. AS my other thread says if you are interested I suggest emailing me at darkageslarp@gmail.com
Note: For folks familiar with the game, the on time stamp will be out until 8
If you show up without contacting me before hand that is fine, it will just make it take longer for you to get into character. Also, I recommend all new players bring a blank notebook.
The age of chaos-Bringing it back « Result #18 on Nov 11, 2007, 10:53am »
Firstly, my apologies to Duncan for using his game board for this post...but it seemed the best place and I don't think he'll mind.
2 years ago I started a Dark Ages game which, unfortunately, ended after 6 months. This was mostly due to big changes in my life, I was getting married, had just got a new job, was looking for a house...etc. which made it entirely impossible to devout the time to the game I thought was required to make it of any meaningful quality.
I have mentioned recently to folks that I have had an itch to run a game and the topic of my DA game came up.
I am trying to figure out where in the scheme of LARP slots I could run this game (I only play in one fo the many larps). In the past I have refused to run opposing another LARP, however if there is sufficient interest by players who are not already in a game that night I will run opposed....I'm not a jerk (well I can be but not in this case) I just have learned that running a game AT ALL affects other games player bases.
If you are interested as a new or returning player please let me know what night (Friday or Saturday only please) I should run. My currnet only LARP is eclipse so reference like the Friday of Eclipse, the opposite Sat are appreciated, I will only run every other week. If I can get enough interested players that don't care about holidays I'll start soon. If I can't I will start in January. Game will begin at 8 regardless of the night (though I'll be there earlier...the rules packet will explain).
I have 100% of all game material previously used. Returning players are welcome to pick up their old characters (yes I'll be giving an XP bonus for a 1.5 year break). Game will resume in setting two weeks after the last run game. (AKA: picking up where I left off).
If there is sufficient interest I will start an email group, if you are a new player and want setting/rules information please email me at darkageslarp@gmail.com I will not post them here, that just isn't appropriate.(note these rules contain countless spelling and grammatical errors, blame Linda she said she'd fix them...)
I have no plans to have an internet presence beyond an email group and an ST email.

NEXT GAME « Result #20 on Oct 24, 2007, 9:01pm »
We are switching weekends for several reasons. Mostly to accomodate my desire to play in Dale's Sabbat game.
Last game was 10/20. The next game will be in three weeks, on 11/10. I am not sure if Chris is running both of the weeks in between, or what. Chris, please let us know.
Also, Dale's game ran on 10/19 at the dance studio. His next game is running 11/2 at RIT. He's using fairly standard rules, with the exception of the rolling damage system (which has worked fairly well for Chris over the last year). Good times were had by all. Everyone's invited, except Dale.

Sabbat: Rochester Under Siege « Result #41 on Sept 29, 2007, 8:48pm »
As most of you know i'll be running a sabbat larp shortly. Background for said game is a seven year camarilla siege on the sabbat. A hidden force abruptly ends the seige killing the leaders of both sides. The cam runs scared and the sabbat are left to wonder, what could possibly be scary enough to send the cam running? Game will hopefully run fridays opposite AWC's Garou Game. All are welcome and as per usual $5 dollars per person would be appreciated for renting the studio.

wade has made a request of a few features being added to the pack boards. I will totally make them happen if I can get a few folks to be online at the same time as me.
RWAG sponsorship « Result #52 on Sept 4, 2007, 7:49pm »
Hey guys,
I stopped by RWAG on Tuesday, and it looks like they've got their heads on straight so far. It looks like we're going to need to talk to them to get room reg straightened out (assuming we want some association with them?).
Do we want to get some more players from RWAG? If so, I'd suggest someone stop by next week and do some advertising.

Those of us who disseminate info would also love some of those charts. Same thing I said last time something was asked for... I am done kicking Duncan for info... anyone else wanna do it?

Re: When is the next game? « Result #54 on Sept 1, 2007, 4:26pm »
Next game should be Saturday the 8th. From what I have been told the dance studio no longer has commitment problems for saturdays so we will not be haveing the 5th saturday problems we have had in the past. So basically every other week just as normal unless you here otherwise. If I here different I will post here ASAP.
Re: When is the next game? « Result #55 on Sept 1, 2007, 12:52am »
No, Duncan doesn't run after Changeling. He said he something like he runs after AWC's game so that he can think or something... And by think, we all know he means get us extra xp!
But no, Eclipse is going to be, unless Duncan differentiates from his usual pattern, the second Saturday in September.
But hey, what do I know eh? Guess we wait for a more official looking post!!!

When is the next game? « Result #62 on Aug 31, 2007, 7:55am »
So, one of the reasons i dislike the "week of the month" schedule.
Is the next game the second saturday of the month (The 8th), or the second full weekend of the month (the 15th)?
And are the friday larps sticking with the saturday games, or are they on the 1st/3rd and 2nd/4th Friday of the month schedule?
As a side note, I'd like to see some more stuff up on the web, stuff like the updated mage successes and chart, item creation, plus some rules changes. It'd just be nice.
Sooo... Character Creation Rules Updating? « Result #65 on Aug 16, 2007, 6:36pm »
I know it has been a year. And some things have been set in stone in Duncans head, and also on paper. Is there going to be a updating of the rules and character creation things on the forums anytime soon for those that cannot dive into Duncans brain and get the rules that way? This way people aren't guessing. Not all of us are able to beat him with a stick while he works.

Huh, somehow my birthday's listed a week in advance of when it should be. Must have screwed it up somehow. Oh well, I'll still take the "happy birthday" and offer one to the others who really are having a birthday.

Re: New game location? « Result #81 on Jul 25, 2007, 5:47pm »
I have not much to add here. I was against just using RIT in the first place. If we had a piece of paper saying we were supposed to be there, even if that paper cost money, it would be worth it to me.

Re: New game location? « Result #82 on Jul 17, 2007, 10:30pm »
I really like RIT as a location. We've generally had good relations with any of the Campus Safety individuals that have been in the building. I know that several of them have talked to us and said it was cool for us to stay well past eleven because we weren't/don't cause trouble. With any organization there's always someone who's a dick. The officer from last week gets off by wielding his tiny bit of power, and really there's nothing to be done for it.
I'm not in favor of throwing away a perfectly good, and free, location because of one bad experience. I think we should talk to RIT about officially reserving space. I'm against paying for the use of any space. Even at $5 a game I can think of much better uses for that money. Sure some people may think me cheap, but those who know me know that's not the case. Frankly, I find it almost insulting to pay to sit in a room and talk to my friends. Really most/the best parts of game are really just that, and that's something I can do for free.
Eclipse is a great game that I want to see succeed, but I see moving the location as having much more potential to destroy the game than to nurture it. Maybe that's a bit melodramatic, but I think the core concept is both clear and true.
I welcome other views on this, as well as ideas as how to correct this problem. I for one would hope that a group of current/former RIT students can come together with RIT Alumni Relations, Student Government, or some other department and find a way that our group can continue to meet there. I think we have a good case because we've shown ourselves to be a responsible and respectful group in the past. Let's remember that continuing to be such, especially in the face of assholes, is the best chance we have at retaining our location.

Re: New game location? « Result #83 on Jul 16, 2007, 12:30pm »
hrm. well, yeah. Through most of the summer this is probably going to be a problem, as campus safety really doesn't have anything better to do.
During the school year, we seem to get at least an hour or two more before anyone gives us crap, which is a positive. I'd talk to alumni relations if the buildings were technically open and complain, but since they're not, our only real shot with AR would be if we wanted to rent rooms, and since we're not a student organization, it'll probably cost cash anyway.
I'll look into what we can do with AR tommorow during my day off and let you guys know.
It's annoying, but considering we only have three games left at RIT this summer, and one of them theoretically should be the picnic game (i assume this will be somewhere other than RIT anyway) I'm less annoyed as this seems to only be a short term thing.
Then again, the officer who talked to us sure was a dick.

Academic side has always closed at 11, officially speaking. Even when we had rooms officially, there were times they gave us shit after 11. Yeah it sucks, but fortunately it's the exception rather than the rule. I dunno. I really like RIT, it's a great location, it's got comfortable seating, it has hallways and corridors and all sorts of nice things for running scenes. But yeah, it does suck that we will occasionally be booted out very early. I'm not thrilled with the idea of paying for space, but if it comes down to it I will, provided it's a nice space. I'm sorry, but I really just don't dig the dance studio even if it is an option.
But I agree, not a bad idea to look for other places.
New game location? « Result #85 on Jul 16, 2007, 10:19am »
Hey everybody,
I don't know about you guys, but I'm a little miffed at RIT for kicking us out so early on Saturday. Yes, we aren't supposed to be there legally speaking, but that's been the case for the last year. If this is what is going to happen every time we game there, then it's time we found a new location. It's not like we aren't all carpooling to get there anyway! Any suggestions? I know the dance studio isn't an option, but there has to be another place we can game in this city!
Re: Sabbat Picnic « Result #86 on Jul 10, 2007, 7:43pm »
Suppose I should weigh in on my preferences.
I won't be around this weekend at all, and with such short notice not a good idea anyway.
The weekend of the 28th-29th, I can be at game at the regular time on the 28th but my morning and afternoon are full so I can't make it anything during that time.
Won't be around during the day of the 11th but I will be at game then, and I should be around on the 12th.
No idea about the 25th-26th, but both should be fine.
Re: Sabbat Picnic « Result #91 on Jul 9, 2007, 7:24am »
OK...
The next game dates as I know them are:
July 14 July 28 August 11 August 25
Are any of these dates outright unacceptable? I know that it might be tough to organize something as quickly as this Saturday's game, and that Sunday would likely be a better day. Please vote on Saturday vs. Sunday, followed by your choice of date. Should we NOT get a consensus on a date, one will be chosen at random.

I'm going to throw this idea out there. Is anyone interested in, say, some game this summer of going to a park and holding game after a cookout? It does involve exposing gamers to <gasp> SUNLIGHT, but there's also the possibility of good food. What do you all say?
